Yeap. It's GOLD in colour and it's Gucci .. I thought it's quite pretty actually ... It's the Crystal Joy GG Tall Tote bag. Am wondering whether I can afford this after all the Christmas shopping I've done. lol :p

Yes, it is THAT time of the year again ..

when I start to feel all nostalgic about living the States those many many years ago .. lol :p I was looking at my photos and thinking about how having a little garden there was so much more achievable than HERE. Well, firstly, there's the issue of actually living here in a HOUSE with a garden .. then the more important issue is the blasted weather .. it was so nice in Springtime there to be outside pottering around tending to the flowers etc. while Claudia was either on her bicycle or running up and down with the neighbour's kids.

sigh.

Yes, that was my little garden .. with plants and flowers purchased from Wal-Mart no less. That's Claudia btw .. not some random Asian little girl I picked up. lol :p

That swing set I got for her 2nd hand .. it was a bargain .. and she was a lucky girl .. a whole swing set with a slide and a see saw .. in our backyard. lol :p These photos were taken in May 2004 .. so I was about 8 months pregnant with Lauren here.

This Christmas ..

I've been meaning to do this for some time now. And that some time has stretched to years - finally I signed up last night and my GIRO application is in the mail. I signed up to be a child sponsor (again) for World Vision.

$45 a month isn't a lot of money to help a child. I had been a child sponsor for a number of years to a Filipino boy and his family. Every year, I'd get a letter or 2 with a smiling photo of him and a short letter telling me about his life etc. At first the letters were written by his teacher then as he got older and could write himself, the letters were written by him. I treasured each letter I got from him and wrote back a couple of times. I was his child sponsor for a good number of years till his family was deemed self-sufficient financially and was no longer under World Vision. I had the option of taking on a new child but never got around to it.

I finally did last night. I chose a child from Cambodia. Now, I'm waiting rather excitedly for his/her portfolio.

Would u like to be a child sponsor too? Go to the World Vision website and sign up today!

32 weeks and counting ..

Went for my gynae appt today. Baby is of a good size she says. I was suspicious and asked her exactly how big is she? Lol.

Her head circumference went from 252 to 310 in 3 weeks! And conservatively my gynae puts her weight at 2.7kg now. That means she could hit 4 kg when she is born!

Oh dear! My nightmare. I'm not keen on a large baby. More work pushing her out AND the likelihood of tearing is HIGH.

damn it.

My gynae says since I delivered Emily at 3.9kg w no problems - ie no episiotomy or tearing - it should be fine this time around.

I sure hope so. Lol.

Club Med Bintan rocks

Hubby decided to take us for a holiday at Club Med Bintan last week. It was an awesome trip. It will probably be my last for a long while cos we will welcome Baby #5 in about 10 weeks' time. And yes, we still haven't come up with a name for her. Lol.

Yeah! Got my shoes, bag and shawl !

Went on an almost frantic shoe hunt today .. actually, a pal was so kind enough to help me .. she got to town first and went around scouting for a suitable pair for me .. size and design.

After I had parked, she brought me to Sinderella at Emerald Hill and had 2 pairs already picked out for me. I chose the pair with the lower heels .. about an inch or so .. it is LOVELY !! I love it to bits .. here it is ..

Aren't they gorgeous ??!! And sparkly as well .. I like !!

And a matching bag ..

I was a happy chicky !! ... We went on to Robinsons to get a shawl, earrings and then it was a quick stop at the Estee Lauder counter to get some make-up and I was done !! :p

AWESOME! .. My friend should be a personal shopper !! ..

And now ... Shoes

So now that I've gotten the gown, I still need the shoes. And yes, it's already 1.22am Monday morning here and the formal dinner is tomorrow. Oh dearie me. Lol :p I'm really cutting it close.

And yes, have I mentioned that finding footwear my size here is like finding a needle in a haystack? I kid u not. I'm a size 10. And well, most ladies here are between a 5 to 8. Bummer. So far whatever shoes I've bought thus far are from either Marks and Spencers or from this European brand. Can't recall the brand now but suffice to say the 2 pairs I have from that brand were all 100plus each and those were the designs on sale. Sigh.

I brought quite a number of shoes back from the States with me but none match the gown I bought.

My friend who's a self-confessed shoe expert has appointed herself my shoe shopper later today. She warned me we might have to buy from On Pedder (please God, noooooo) and even joked about making me a Jimmy Choo convert. She has got to be kidding me. My Hubby will divorce me faster than it takes me to SPELL "Jimmy Choo". He will have a heart attack if I spend a small fortune on ONE pair of shoes. My absolute max is $250 for a strappy gold or silver pair of shoes. Ok, right??!!

Will keep u posted. Hope to high Heaven I find a pair. I seriously don't think my Tommy Hilfiger black high heeled clogs will go with that gown.

Family holiday time!

Decided last minute to go on a holiday nearby before Baby Number 5 comes along. So on the 1st of November .. that's about 10 days time, we are going on a family vacation to Club Med Bintan. I've never been there so it's quite exciting for me. We wanted to go to another Club Med .. but the one he chose initially was not for kids.

Anyway, it was a toss up between Phuket and Bintan .. we chose Bintan eventually cos reading reviews on the Phuket one online .. it's apparently in need of renovation. And it'll be our first holiday together with the 4 kids with me being pregnant .. I'll be 7 months by then, so I wanted to be nearer to home. Just a ferry away. In case, I needed my gynae. We aren't taking the maid with us .. dammit .. cos we have 2 doggies at home .. so guess I'll have to be the maid for those 4 nights .. arrrrghhhh.

Still I'm looking forward to this last vacation before I have the baby. I'm quite excited .. I can't wait. I bought new maternity clothes for the trip too! .. lol :p

I don't do balls ..

Yeap, I have to accompany The Hubby to his Graduation Ball next week. And at the Istana no less and the President will be there (Hubby found out today that he won't .. phew) . And guess what?! I didn't start looking for a gown till today. Was in denial about it I guess. Lol :p

And of course, it's hard enough already finding a gown for ME here. Everyone is so skinny n short. Damn it! And what's worse is being pregnant.

I knew I was gonna have a hell of a time finding a long gown to fit me.

Walked into Robinsons and found this lovely teal Grecian type maxi dress from Coast. And it comes in my size. Pregnant and all. Am really happy with it but I thought it was rather expensive at $399.

I was told by a friend that evening dresses are about that price. Oh dear, luckily this will be about the only formal dinner I attend in a long long while. Lol :p

The Hubby was the one who first spotted it on the rack and insisted that I try it btw. Not bad right! I was initially unconvinced by the colour and the price but after trying it, it looked kinda decent on me! Yay!

Women are from Venus, men are from ..

Seriously, as long as I live, I will never understand men. At all. The way they do things and why they choose to do or not to do some things, really can frustrate you.

A recent incident that happened with The Hubby and me is one good example. The corridor leading to my front door - I have a wooden bench there. Initially, I put it there so that the kids could sit and put on their shoes before going out. But as time wore on, the bench was used to put things on. The girls' school bags, files, The Hubby's laptop bag and his helmet. Much to my annoyance. Cos while the bench was nice and empty in the mornings when everyone was out, in the evenings and during the weekend, it was just a big mess. And of course I was the one bothered by it. And the maid too of course. I complained to her and decided that it would be a good idea to have a cabinet there to store all the stuff and then still have the bench there for it's original purpose.

I brought up the topic with The Hubby. The annoying man was adamant that there be no cabinet of any kind there. No logical reason. Just that it won't look nice. I tried patiently to explain that it would be functional and practical to have a cabinet there so that things could be hidden away neatly. But no, the man could not be reasoned with.

I was prepared for that answer. It's not something new. It's frustrating. I will never in my life understand men. Never.

I waited a few months then when I absolutely couldn't bear the mess anymore, I walked into Vhive furniture and bought a cabinet. Cost me all of S$189.05. An absolute bargain for peace of mind. My peace of mind. Here is what it looks like in my corridor.

And here it is with the girls school bags and other assorted school related stuff in it - like art bags etc.

The Hubby was of course unhappy when I told him I had gone ahead and bought a cabinet. Tough for him. I am so happy with my purchase. The corridor now looks so neat and tidy cos everything is not just laying on the wooden bench. And the bench is now available for sitting on to put on shoes!

What's in a name?

Well, when you have to think of a name for your baby, it's a big deal. Cos the name will be with her or him for life. So The Hubby and I agree that it should be a name that he or she can grow into an adult with, not something that sounds cute when they're kids and then it sounds odd on an adult.

And that's about the only thing we agree on unfortunately. Most names that I like, he doesn't. And vice versa. It was a pain naming all our 4 girls. We took months to decide cos for every name I came up with, he'd find some reason to dislike. And well, the ones he chose didn't sound nice to me.

Sigh.

So now, at 22 weeks along, we are nowhere near close to choosing her name. Generally, we avoid choosing names that our friends have named their girls, or names of friends, family or people that we don't like.

That narrows it down more. Of course, if you ask my girls, kids being kids, they like favourite cartoon character names and such. Lol :p Lauren asked me the other day to have 3 more babies - she said I should have 3 boys this time and guess what she suggested their names should be?

Alvin, Simon and Theodore. Lol :p I told her I wasn't naming my "kids" (not that I ever want another 3 more) after the Chipmunks. I told her SHE could go name her future boys after them.

20 weeks and counting!

Went for my detailed scan last week. Got to see my little one again :p

The clarity of the scan is amazing. I could see her fingers and toes and it was surreal to see her moving around on the screen and to see as well as feel when she kicked or turned. She is my 5th and yet I am still awed every time I go for an ultrasound scan and see my baby on the screen.

We have yet to think of a name for her. Still thinking about it. And I still haven't gotten around to getting her some baby essentials like an infant car seat etc. I've of course started buying her CLOTHES :p Lol !

Something new

I am an unadventurous person when it comes to food. Really. 9 out of 10 times, I have a tendency to order the same food that I've been eating for years. One of the reasons is that I'm afraid that if I were to try something new, I won't like it and my meal will be spoilt.

Today, however, I decided to order something else. Every time I eat at a food court, I'm more than likely to either eat Indian or Malay food. Today, I ordered Thai fried rice with beef.

This is what it looked like. It was ok. Kinda regretted ordering it. Lol. Wished I'd stuck to ordering my usual stuff.

Damn.

16th week scan :p

Was excited to see the little bub again. Moving around, little fingers and toes waving about. Can't believe there is a little human being in there. I guess cos I'm on the er, big side, that there is still plenty of room in there cos I ain't showing yet. And I don't even feel pregnant.

According to the pregnancy guide on my iPhone, baby is about 12 cm in length now. Wow!

U know u need professional help ...

When you download an iPhone app to help you remember all the timings for all the games u play on Facebook.

Lol! I am forever forgetting how long more before I have to harvest my crops on my, ahem, farm, serve my ready cooked food in my cafe and to collect my tax from the poor people in my empire.

So I found this neat app to help me keep track. Of course, the simple solution would be to just stop playing the games on Facebook.

Erm, I'll stick with using this timer app.

Lol :p

The things people do ..

I was in my condo carpark about to get out of my car the other day when another resident who had just come down to the carpark unlocked his car and I heard his car SPEAK. Yes, it spoke. And not in English .. in Japanese.

Beats me what it said but I think it GREETED him .. it was in this trying to be sweet sounding lady's voice. Eh, it was creepy lar. And rather loud too. I can't imagine parking in the middle of the night at your carpark and hearing that instead of "teet teet" .. lol :p

And sure enough when he locked the car (he had come down to retrieve something from it) .. the voice bid him farewell (I assumed) as the car locked.

WTH!

Since it was a Honda saloon .. and I drive an Odyssey .. I can safely tell you now that it wasn't a standard issue car locking system. Why on this earth would you want a car locking system that SPEAKS instead of going "Beep beep" ?!!

It's the first time I've ever heard of such a thing. I mean, come on, it's not like the car is KITT from Knight Rider .. ah, that would be a car to die for. Not only does it speak when you lock and unlock it, it can have a conversation with you while annihilating your enemies on the road. Ah, what I could do with KITT as my car. I could blast those idiot drivers outta my way.

Anyway, the guy and I end up in the same lift and I was soooooo tempted to ask him WHY he had installed such an awful thing in his car. Did he need friends? Was it important to him to have his car greet him in Japanese?

Of course I didn't. He is a neighbour and he'd have plentiful opportunities to scratch my car if he felt that I was being rude.

Yes, after my yelling incident with the first floor neighbour of my block, I am more mindful about who I erm, become enemies with. As my Hubby says, "But he can SCRATCH our car, honey".

Lol :p

That first floor neighbour and I are now hostile enemies. Incidentally, he didn't yell at me. I was the one YELLING at him.

That will be story I will tell another day.

One of my favourite photos

This was taken when I was a couple of months old back in 1974. See, that's my mom holding me. She was a young mom. She had me when she was 21. That's my aunt and my uncle - they are the youngest in the family so I grew up pretty close to my aunt. She's about 10 years older than I am :p We're still good friends today. We talk often :p I love her a lot.

iPhone app gone wrong

This is what happens when you rely on an iPhone app to track ovulation to PREVENT pregnancy. The app can be wrong (especially if u refuse to fork out US$0.99 for the deluxe version) and you end up pregnant with your 5th child.

Yes, folks I am about 14 weeks along and that is my scan this week.

Lol ;p

No one will really understand the excited horror I felt when the 2nd blue line appeared on the test stick. It was kinda surreal and I felt faint. I tried to let out a cry of horror but failed. I tried to cry but failed - cos I can't cry on demand (lol). Now I know how an unwed young teenager feels upon testing and seeing the 2 lines on the test stick.

But yes, although we didn't plan for a 5th child, we are happy nonetheless. At the end of the day, children are a gift from God and we've been very blessed so far with 4 perfectly healthy girls who are an absolute joy in our lives.

My due date is the 22nd of Jan 2011. And this time, it's ligation for sure.

Never trust a hair stylist

Whose name is just 2 letters and it's not initials like TJ, AJ, or KC. Lol :p

I was in desperate need of a hair coloring and went down to the hair salon at the mall near my home.

I was assigned this rather young skinny chap who asked what u wanted done and proceeded to inform me of their rates for a haircut etc.

He was ok I thought not chatty which how I like them to be cos small talk just kills me. It was a long and laborious process coloring my hair. I wanted to die. And after it was almost finished, my hair stylist felt compelled to tell me that I had "horrendously thick hair" - so much for customer service eh. This is one of the main reasons why I dislike going to hair salons here. Zero tact. I've been hearing that all my life btw. That my hair is very thick and while it used to bother me when I was a teenager, now I figure with me being a ripe old age of 36.5 - hell, I ought to be grateful I still have such thick hair!

Anyway, I didn't bother to tick him off. My friend says I should've gone to a more expensive hair salon. Do you think it would've mattered? I seriously doubt it cos I've tried a range of hair salons in terms of pricing and I just think hair stylists HERE have no customer service skills. At least when I patronize a cheap hair salon and the aunty tells me my hair is thick etc, you sorta understand cos well, she's an Aunty - they are usually tactless to begin with. Lol.

By the way, my recent visit to the hair salon cost me $350. That's not cheap anyway.

And my hair stylist's name? Xe. Yes, I kid u not. He informed me that he has Wednesdays off. Guess what day I'm going down to the hair salon next when I have to touch up my hair coloring? Lol :p

Corrinne May rocks!

I've always liked Corrinne May's voice :) I have her 2005 album, Safe in a Crazy World. Love some of the songs there to bits :)

She wrote and sang this year's National Day Parade song, Song for Singapore. It's AWESOME !! Although I ain't a big fan of such, err nationalistic songs .. I thought this was FABULOUSLY done.

Read more about Corrinne May HERE:)

Why can't you drive like me?

Amazingly, that's what The Hubby said to me one day as we were driving (I was the one driving) to church.

Eh, WHAT THE HELL?!!

See, it's not that he doubts my driving ability. I have been driving for YEARS with NO accident at all. And I drove in the States when we were there ... bigger vehicle and I drove on the highways there in pitch black conditions (we were driving all night to get to Disney World, Florida .. took us freaking 28 hours of almost non-stop driving) ...

He just wants me to drive like him. Cos he is a control freak. A BIG OLD NUISANCE CONTROL FREAK.

And it's driving me INSANE. The Hubby has declared that he will not be driving from now on .. and that I, will be the driver at all times. Blardy hell. Blardy blardy hell. I tell you that man can nag and complain and generally make so much noise when I'm driving it's super super annoying.

Of course, our driving styles are different. And of course, he thinks I should drive like him. He thinks his driving style is RIGHT, AND THAT IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL WAY OF DRIVING. Blardy blardy hell.

I tell you, most times when we get home, I have such an awful headache. And I bet my blood pressure shoots up too. Most times, we end up arguing in the car cos after a while, whether I agree on not ... it just gets to be too much and I end up telling him off.

SIGH.

I swear the man is going to kill me someday. Or me him. I have visions of fitting a "EJECT" button in my car for the passenger seat so that I can just press it and see him sailing through the air and landing HARD on the ground a few feet away from my car when he gets too much on my nerves.

I complain to my maid, I complain to my friends, I complain to the kids .. they all know btw that "Daddy is like that" and don't seem to suffer any ill effects from us sometimes bickering in the car .. hahah :p It doesn't ever get too loud, just me saying that he is such a nag and is giving me a headache then him responding that he cannot understand why I cannot accept his "tips and guidance" ...

Blardy man. Blardy blardy man.

and the hum drum of school begins ..

The one month June holidays are over. OVER. Today (Monday) in just a couple of hours' time, the horror begins. Yes, SCHOOL. For all you NEW moms with either toddlers or just ONE preschooler, PLEASE.

I have been doing this for YEARS ... and trust me, it sucks. lol :p Everyday, ferrying your kids up and down for school and various other activities like ballet and Mandarin class, it sucks BIG TIME. No matter what ANYONE says, life as a SAHM is no picnic. It's 24/7, and you're the designated chaeffeur for LIFE .. or at least till all your kids are outta of school. Which for me is like for the next million years or so. And there is NO REST, no HOLIDAY .. cos even when you're on holiday, your kids are with you ... negating the whole idea of a holiday ANYWAY. lol :p Thing is, I love my girls too much to want to leave them behind .. I'd probably worry sick. So Hubby and I decided long ago that the only holidays we'll ever take is with the kids .. :)

So anyway, I'm spending the last couple of hours before my life is over to just chill and surf the net. Before I have to turn in .. and then in a couple of hours' time, get up to start the whole school routine again. Mind you, my kids don't feel my NEGATIVE feelings towards the routine. I am careful to sound positive and cheerful so as to get them excited about school and all that comes with it. I love that they learn things and have their friends there. It'd just be SUPER if they could drive themselves there and back everyday. lol :p

I enjoyed having the girls at home with me this June. Oh, they do and they did bicker, but it's usually over fast and doesn't happen that often. They play well together though and can sit and play and watch tv together .. or eat together and enjoy each other's company. That makes me happy that I have the 4 of them .. even Calista is joining in now .. so she is seldom glued to me ..

ahhhhh school. dammit.

The Bowler Camera bag

Have decided to get this cool looking camera bag for myself. I hope my Canon EOS 7D can  fit in it with the lens that I am currently using. The bag is from Amazon.com :p

Isn't it COOL? Soooooo much nicer than the standard bag that the camera came with .. it's damn ugly!

My evil evil husband

So my husband tells me last week that since I'm the one driving the car, I should also be the one taking it for regular servicing. Eh, what the hell. Shouldn't men be the one doing these things?! I hate going down to these places and then waiting for 2 plus hours for them to service the car.

Anyway, it's not like the car is solely for my use. Not like I meet my friends in town everyday for shopping and high tea. Ok, that happens sometimes but mostly I am the designated chauffeur in the family. I am forever sending someone to school, to ballet, to tuition. Sigh. Yea, they are my kids I know. Lol :p

So yes, bummer for me but I have to take the car in on Wednesday morning. Dammit!!

Why I hate our zoo

Don't get me wrong. I've been to the one in San Diego and frankly speaking, ours wins hands down. For one thing the zoo in San Diego, the layout sucks. They very often had such steep slopes that u had to drag yourselves up just to get to one exhibit. And the slopes are so steep that wheelchairs and strollers are disallowed on them. Yes, they are THAT steep.

Our zoo wins on animal variety. And the fact that cos we are land scarce here, the distance from one exhibit/enclosure to the next isn't big.

BUT our weather is a big big disadvantage. The weather in San Diego when we were there was awesome. Sunny but not too hot. Very enjoyable to walk around. Our weather is hot and humid. It is really terrible. You're sweating buckets right after walking into the zoo entrance.

U literally have to struggle to walk around from one place to the next. While the zoo people have madea huge effort to plant big shady trees to provide some respite from the direct rays of the sun, it is still really really hot and humid. And trust me, the humidity is worse than that of Florida. Huh. In Florida, at least it cools down somewhat in the evening. It doesn't here.

And it's the heat and humidity that really drains you of energy and good humour. More often than not (like today) I was walking along and complaining to my maid. Hahaha :p poor woman has no choice but to listen to me and agree.

I loved the zoo in New Orleans. The Audobon Zoo. The weather was again pretty awesome and the zoo layout was nice and flat and they did have a nice variety of animals too. And birds too. And cos it was really nice weather (I think we were there at the start of Fall) it was cool and the zoo had no smell at all!

That's the other thing that our zoo rates poorly in. Cos of the tropical climate, our zoo smells. Well not too badly. The poop and such is cleared pretty regularly BUT the heat and humidity still means that there are smells. Ugh. So if you're pregnant and nauseous or just sensitive to smells, the zoo is a bad place to be.

Parallel parking lots

The ones at malls are my absolute fav lots to park in. Why?cos then, idiot drivers who drive crappy cars like the QQ or other cheap cars like vans etc can't park next to u and the driver can't swing open his door viciously just to hit your car causing dents and dings. Huh. Happened a few times with my previous car.

See, this was at Shaw Centre. I was so happy to have parked in this lot. Plus I have NO problems at all parallel parking.

My friend says I seem to be slightly obsessed with my car. Eh, just cause I like to keep my car shiny and clean and polished doesn't mean I have an obsession with it.

Me time

Been spending an afternoon a week with girlfriends having high teas at hotels and such. It's such a relief. Not that I don't love my girls but it's nice to spend time with other adults without them around. And to be able to eat in peace. Lol :p

I had tea with a friend at Fosters - The English Rose Cafe at Holland Village. Eh the place is very quaint and cost. And the tea set was really nice. See the pics.

The day before I had high tea with my good friend at Goodwood Park Hotel. The food is really nice and we had a swell time stuffing our faces. Hehehehe :p

Crap vs crab

"Eh, please walk carefully. Don't step on crap" I told Lauren as we were walking to the carpark.

"Crab? What crab?!" said Lauren looking down on the ground. "I don't see any crabs"

Sigh.

Ok. Note to self - don't use "crap" with the girls cos they have no clue what I'm saying. Lol :p

New lows of aunty-dom

Yes, I have hit a new low of aunty-dom. I am now a Fairprice Plus member. I can collect Linkpoints. I still dunno what the hell what I can do with them but yes, I don't have to shake my head when the NTUC cashier asks me, "Are u a member"? All I do is wordlessly pass her my spanking new Fairprice Plus Visa Debit Card.

It's my first debit card btw. Usually, I get a supplementary Visa/Master card from the Hubby. But I decided that since I am spending literally hundreds of dollars every month at blardy NTUC on groceries cos it's conveniently located in the same building as the girls' kindy, what the heck.

The card is blardy ugly though. Lol :p

You're not my mother

Every year I ask my Hubby what he's getting me for Mother's Day. Blardy man's response "You're not my mother".

Eh, I am not amused. I gave birth 4 times for that man. Lol :p he of course thinks it's insane that he has to keep buying gifts throughout the year for me. I've told the man numerous times it doesn't have to be something expensive. But does he listen? Noooooooooo. So he gets stressed during these occasions cos he thinks I MUST get an expensive gift. Of course that's not true. There are plenty of nice Mother's Day cards that a husband can buy. Next year I'm buyin myself a gift and charging it to him.

Blardy man.

Gadgets ...

I am still loving my iPhone though it's been a few months. I thought the novelty would wear off but it hasn't. I am still glued to mine :p I can so pretty much everything on it cos now a lot of websites have mobile versions like Victoria's Secret and Ralph Lauren. Makes browsing a cinch. The apps that are available for the iPhone number in the tens of thousands and there is an app for everything! I don't play games on my iPhone though just Words with Friends :p (my nick is kristalangel if u wanna play a game with me).

Of course, my only grouse so far has been the battery life. But guess what?! My spanking new vehicle entertainment system is iPod compatible. So it charges my iPhone as I'm playing my music through it. Pretty decent charging time too. I didn't transfer alll my songs into my iPhone though. It wouldve taken up about 9 gig easy. While I do have the space in my phone, let's just face it - I'm not going to be listening to A-Ha anytime soon. Lol. So I just made up playlists and transferred those to my iPhone. Ahhhh bliss. No need to waste CDs anymore.

The other cool thing is my new CPU. Love it to bits. We constructed it from scratch with the mostly higher end components and what we eventually ended up with is a super fast computer that is still working like a dream. It hasn't hung on us since we got it in Dec. Ahhh I love it when gadgets work like they're supposed to.

My car head unit is super awesome too. And I'm glad Hubby decided to top up that $600 more for the 5.1 sound processor for the centre speaker to work. It sounds like you're in a cinema! I spend quite a bit of time in my car ferrying the girls around and listening to music is how I relax and destress so I enjoy a good sound system in my car. There is never kiddy music playing in my car. Lauren and Emily sing along to The Fray and Kelly Clarkson. Lol.

So yes, gadgets rule my life :p See, I even blog from my iPhone most days :)

Picket and Rail

Went to the Picket and Rail warehouse and guess what?! While their furniture is nice and the standard American type style ... they have pretty decent tableware and stuff. Damn .. walking around the place seeing their things for sale reminded me AGAIN of all the places I used to buy stuff from in the States .. my favourite being Williams-Sonoma, Crate and Barrel and Longaberger baskets. Lurve those. Brought quite a number back with me to Singapore. Hubby was of course absolutely aghast that baskets could cost so much .. hahaha! ... :p I think I bought more kichen and tableware in the 2 years that we were there than in my whole life here .. haha!

Ok, to be clear, the stuff at Picket and Rail warehouse is NOTHING like Williams-Sonoma and Crate and Barrel .. at Williams-Sonoma, I remember once, my friend and I were in their Scottsdale, AZ store browsing, and my friend bought one of their splatter guards .. they were US$25 each and it wasn't the super large one too. I know our Ikea has them too .. but er, not at US$25 apiece. Lol :p Picket and Rail has stuff that you'd find in their little stores selling knick knacks and Americana themed houseware. Just that somehow, I did feel a sense of nostagia walking through P and R. sigh.

I bought 2 serving plates from Picket and Rail .. :p Here, I managed to sneak a photo of just a small part of their kitchenware section.

Teetotaler am I

Not that I haven't tried mind u. I just don't like the taste of alcoholic beverages be it beer, wine, champagne or hard liqour. I would like say I love a good wine with my meal but I'd be lying through my teeth. Gimme a tall cold glass of Coke with ice and I'm super satisfied.

Which is pretty sad cos we have a whole shelf full of whiskey and such in our store room and no one to drink it. Sigh. Hubby and I were contemplating drinking some the other day to "take the edge off and relax" hahahaha yes, I get stressed too being a sahm. It ain't easy. Plus I am the driver as well.

And while I love my girls to bits, a whole day spent instructing, reprimanding and repeating the same things day in and out can get on your nerves. Trust me. And it doesn't take long.

So there we were flat out on our bed tired as hell one evening and contemplating drinking whiskey. Hubby suggested whiskey lime. I prefer coke. Anytime.

That's all we did. Contemplate. Cos I hate the taste of any kind of alcoholic drink and Hubby was only going to drink if I drank. Oh ya, and I'm still breastfeeding. Lol !

What failures we are. Guess our stash of alcohol will always just remain as our stash and nothing more.

Taylor my love!!!!

Lol :p yeap, I went and bought the New Moon DVD. Hubby was of course incredulous that I had paid (his) good money to get it. Lol!

Told Claudia that he (Taylor Lautner) was my boyfriend - hahaha. Of course, Hubby shot back that he was more my nephew than anything else. Claudia asked how come and yes, the man gleefully told her that if Taylor were here, he'd addressed me as "Aunty" ....

Hahahahahahahaha! He's just jealous.

Bad news about "Clash of the Titans"

It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Actually, for those of u who's seen the original, it's actually better. Lol! Of course, the visual effects here are much more advanced but other than that, nothing to rave about.

Wait for the DVD and rent it. Unless you're a sucker for the technical stuff.

Movie nite

Yes! The Hubby and I are watching "Clash of the Titans" tomorrow night! Yay, I'm so excited. The last movie we watched was quite awhile ago. Lol :p

And no, we opted for the non-3D version. Not a big fan of 3D. Unless it's one of those shows at Disney World, Florida *sob* - I miss Disney World :(

My new toy

Nope it ain't some fancy gadget. And it isn't expensive as well. But it's a much needed item when u have kids.

Hahaha! It's my new pencil sharpener!! Love it. It's nice and new and shiny and I purposely bought the most expensive one they had in Popular cos I found that the cheap ass plastic ones are useless!! Those are about 12 bucks and they are plastic and somehow they aren't as good as the one I got.

Anyway, mine is heavy cos it's metal and it cost about $24. There was only that one left on the shelf so too bad about the colour. Gold!! Eeee! Lol :p

So this afternoon was spent sharpening my girls' colour pencils. Hahaha!

And yes, I'm not going to be telling the Hubby that I spent $24 on a pencil sharpener.

Yes I did it!

Do u know what the last book I read was? If I'm not wrong, it was the last Harry Potter book. Lol :p

Well, bring out those 2B pencils and Toto coupons and start colouring cos Momma just went and got myself a BOOK!! And not a kiddy one too. Lol !!

I rented the New Moon DVD over the weekend and now I am absolutely smitten with Taylor Lautner. Totally!! Love him. An he was shirtless most of the movie too!! SIGHHHHH. I am so buying the DVD!

So now, after the movie is over, I am dying to know what happens next. So it's either wait for the next instalment of the saga to be released on the big screen or read the blardy book.

Thing is, the book is damn big and thick. And no pictures in it too. Dammit. Lol!

Now, let's all hope I can finish reading it before the movie is released. Hahahahahaha!

Another cool mom must have

I recently decided (yes, after 4 kids and numerous strollers later) that I needed a cup holder. Lol :p

So when I was at KK hospital the other day, I dropped by First Few Years baby store there and had a look at the cup holders they carried.

Finally bought a Munchkin cup holder. Pink! They have it in blue as well and pretty reasonably priced at $21.90. It fits well for those of us using Maclaren strollers.

So far, I've tried putting the Macdonalds plastic cup (when u order their frappes for eg) and it fits well. U can detach just the cup holder easily when not in use by unhooking it from the plastic portion that u actually attach to your stroller bar.

Alright! Now I can shop and drink my mocha frappé whilst pushing Calista in her stroller!

Daiso rocks!

Yes, yes we're back to THAT story again. Seriously, that place has close to everything u can think of and more. And at 2 bucks a pop, what the hell man?!

I was there recently and chanced upon those mirror things u attach to your windscreen to see you baby behind in her car seat. I've always wanted to get one but Hubby had all these excuses as to why it wasn't necessary so I never got around to buying one. I spotted one at Daiso and bought it. True, it is ugly being bright yellow but what the freaking hell, man - it's just to see the baby. Lol :p

Isn't it awesome for 2 bucks?!

So it's a late breakfast. Actually, it qualified as lunch. Darn. And my maid is already preparing lunch at home. Lol :p

I love nasi lemak. Reminds me of my childhood :p
