What I have been up to :)

So far so good. Lots of activities and meeting up with good friends. We also attended the air show. That was awesome as usual. The aerial show was spectacular. Of course, nothing this far beats what I saw while in Canon Air Force Base some 10 years ago .. But this was pretty good too. Of course the weather was a scorcher .. No shocker there. We were baking in the sun. Hated that. I had my regular SPF 55 makeup on so I was fine. Scratch that. My FACE was fine. I had applied sunblock on my girls so they were ok. I FORGOT about my other exposed areas besides my face like my neck and shoulders so I got sunburnt there (blardy hell).

Also went to Rose Verandah at Shangrila with my friends again. This time it was better. The Hubby had agreed to take the day off to be the chauffeur .. So he stayed home and looked after the girls .. Even Charlotte. While I had a wonderful hi-tea with my girlfriends. Haha! Love my husband!

And Natashia, an old dear friend from secondary school came down from London for a visit and her mom arranged for a lovely tea party at her home. It was good catching up with her and her family.

15 years and counting ..

At the end of this year, The Hubby and I will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary .. Yes, that's LONG isn't it? 15 years. 15 LONG years. Hahaha! Eh, he says that too, ok?!

And it's actually longer than that .. We've been together for some 21 years .. Yes, 21. Since we were 17 years old. Back then, he was the sporty one (he still is) and I was the non-sporty one (who am I kidding - I still am) .. Things haven't changed much have they? Hahaha!

So aside from the 5 kids we've had together, I'm glad to say things are truly still the same .. As much as I complain sometimes about him being stubborn and not seeing things my way with regards to interior design, the man and I still get along well and we enjoy being together a lot. He still makes me laugh and we can still have long chats without getting bored. We don't need to have specific chunks of time for "couple time" .. We do quite well even with the kids around us. And we text each other on and off the whole day most days.

Took us 21 years to get to where we are .. And I for one, am really contented and happy with him.

I was watching some show on tv a few nights ago and during a tender moment where the leads declared their love for each other, I gazed at my sleeping hubby with love too. And I think I put my hand on him (cos I was sitting cross legged on our bed watching tv while he was asleep), bugger man woke up enough to say "eh, massage my feet .. They hurt"

What. The. Hell. Lol !!

I still love u loads my darling husband :)

Sabrina gets flowers !

Yesterday was Valentine's Day .. The Hubby was so sweet to have flowers sent to me. Totally unexpected.

I was at the hypermart getting groceries when the delivery fella called. Of course, I had no clue I was going to get flowers .. He just wanted to make sure I was home.

It would've been fine except he asked for Sabrina. Wth. I was busy so I brusquely told him he had the wrong number and hung up. Of course, he called right back and explained that he was delivering flowers .. And then I realized that he had mispronounced my name (who mispronounces "Samantha" I ask you?!) Well, it was either that or the flowers really were for someone named Sabrina but I was gonna get them. Whichever. As long as I got them. Lol.

Anyway, I got my flowers. Lovely ones they are too. My sweet sweet hubby :)

Our Annual CNY gathering

Came around again .. And once again, we congregated at Michelle and Forest's place .. Good to spend time with friends we've known for a long time. When we all were at Canon AFB in Clovis, NM way back in 2002, there were just 3 kids in the group - Claudia, Shane and Ker Wey. Now, there are 10 kids. Ok lar, I contributed the bulk of that number .. Lol .. But it's really very awesome to have stayed friends so long.

Guess when you respect and enjoy each other's company .. The friendship remains strong and good. Grateful to have them in my life for sure.

Why I would never have 19 kids ..

The Duggars have 19 kids .. NINETEEN. Can u imagine that? Actually, you don't have to. Just watch the series on cable tv every week. Then you can SEE. Lol.

I watch the show with a kind of morbid fascination. I am fascinated that this couple is brave enough to have so many children .. And yet, I cannot fathom ever having that many children of my own. Ever.

I have a mere 5 kids and I feel like running away. Resigning. Throwing in the towel. U get the picture. Lol.

To think about 19 kids ??? There is not enough money in the world to convince me to have just ONE more baby much less another 14.

Michelle Duggar is a noble lady. To have given birth so many times. Wonder how she even takes them to the supermarket. I bring Calista and Charlotte and I feel like slitting my wrists. Especially if Calista decides to be difficult.

As it is, I am just waiting for my younger ones to get older. Waiting. And it seems like an eternity. And I'm getting older. OLDER. I don't want to be 50 trawling Orchard Road window shopping at the Hello Kitty shop. Lol.

Awhile back, Richard Marx was in town for a one night concert and I had to miss it. Charlotte still needs me so there was no way of leaving her at home with my helper (The Hubby was away at the time) .. I was bummed out.

Sigh.

No way 19 kids .. No way.

Awesome friends

Friends since 2002 when we were all posted to the States to live on an airbase .. Those were really good times .. Hanging out at each other's homes .. And being pregnant together at some point as well! Lol. There is nothing like suffering through pregnancy nausea to bring you closer together.

Where would we be ..

Without modern plumbing and the toilet ?? Where ?? Every time I watch a movie set in times BEFORE modern plumbing and toilets, in this case, that Russel Crowe flick, "Robin Hood" which is showing on cable right now, all I can think of is that I'd DIE if I had to live in those times. Man, they used chamber pots I think, or they did it in the forest. I dunno man. I don't want to think about it.

Ewwww.

Or an outhouse when i watch a Western flick. And I am prone to having stomachaches at all times of the day. I cannot imagine creeping out to an outhouse at 2am to take a dump. Die la. Plus not like you can flush everything away. It's basically a hole in the ground .. I'd be too busy throwing up even before I come within a mile of the outhouse.

So yes, I am eternally grateful for being born in these modern times. Where I can flick a switch and the light comes on. Where the toilet is actually inside my house AND modern plumbing means I can shower and pee/poo at any time of the day and night. And have my iPhone playing music to boot. And there is AIR CON. Where would we be without AIR CON? Air con at home, when I sleep .. In my car .. At the malls. Eh, Singapore is blardy hot without air conditioning, come on.

So, if a time machine is ever invented, you won't see me rushing to go back to the past. No way. See the dinosaurs? No, thank you - so not interested. Not if I have to take a pee in the bushes. With my luck, it'd be some poisonous plant .. Lol.
